Wooden Flooring Benefits Compared to other types

Although it is usually more expensive to install wooden flooring when compared to other types of flooring like vinyl or carpet, but the overall benefit outweigh all the others.

Below we have listed a few of the benefits to will find with wooden flooring.

  1.  Quality wooden flooring can last for many years where carpets wear and stain.  Carpet generally lasts around 5 years before you begin to notice that the vacuum no is no longer bringing the pile up.  With a smallest effort, wooden floors can be renewed and restored over and over again.
  2. Wooden floors are much easier to clean and maintain.  You can see the dirt , grit and grime on the surface and is not hidden in the pile of carpets.  If you have dogs or kids, then you know how dirty the floor can get, but a slightly damp mop can remove and stain.
  3. Solid wood flooring is also much more hygienic and ideal for allergy sufferers and dust and fibres are easily removed and swept away.  Carpets can hold parasites like dust mites that are invisible.  Dust mites are not good for allergy sufferers, which is why we would always recommend wooden flooring.
  4. Carpets also hold onto odours from food, drink and dirt that can embed into the fibres.  A freshly mopped wooden flooring with a scented cleaner can instantly freshen any room.
  5. If you worry about wood flooring being cold, it is actually warming to any room, but you can add underfloor heating to the room or add rugs to compliment the decor whilst feeling warm under foot.
  6. After a few years, scratches and marks can build up on wooden flooring but you can simply speak to us at JG Flooring to provide our sand and seal service to restore your flooring, making it look as good as new.
  7. A recent report from estate agents state that homes with wooden flooring professionally installed sell twice as fast as homes with carpets or vinyl.  When professionally installed, wooden flooring can even increase the value of your home.

You can see from the few points above that hardwood flooring has many more benefits of carpets and other flooring, but don’t take our word for it, ask anyone who has wood flooring in their home.
