Wooden Floor Fitting on an Uneven Floor (Part 2)

Solid oak Flooring

After previously describing how difficult it is to fit a wooden floor on an uneven surface we will now explain why you should consult and instruct a professional wooden floor fitter to prepare and fit your new flooring to ensure that it last for many years in your home whilst also adding value to your property.

The floor fitting specialists at JG Flooring will correctly prepare the floor and ensure that it is perfectly level so the surface is ideal for the new flooring to be laid on.  When we first come out to evaluate the floor we will check to see if the floor is even and no extra work is necessary as this can have an impact on the quotation.

If the surface is uneven the wooden floor fitting professional from JG Flooring will evaluate where the problem areas are by using specialist equipment.  The entire floor will be thoroughly checked to determine the extent of the work involved to level the floor.

For minor problems the floor can be levelled using a levelling compound or latex.  Areas that are higher would need to grounded down until they are level.  In some cases, in addition to levelling the low spots we have had to cover the entire floor with hardboard to ensure a perfectly level floor that will not bounce or lift.

Preparing the floor this way can take the same or even longer than actually fitting the top wooden flooring but is the most important part of ensuring a professional wooden floor installation.
