Our sand and seal service for parquet flooring restoration is second to none. We will endeavour to bring your flooring back to it’s former glory. Where repairs are needed we will use reclaimed timbers to closely match your original flooring. We use the latest equipment for sanding and sealing the parquet
flooring that will minimise the dust and mess usually found with this type of restoration.
Parquet Flooring Restoration
Before commencing with the parquet flooring restoration, we will check for any loose, damaged or missing blocks. Loose blocks are often the hardest to find but as soon as you get one loose block it disturbs the other blocks around it, and eventually a complete section is no longer attached to the subfloor. The sound of the area underfoot is the giveaway as it sounds hollow.
Sub floor and Block cleaning
Older parquet floors were fixed using bitumen. This is a now a banned substance so would need to be completely removed before any further work is carried out. Over time, bitumen can affect the bonding used to fix the parquet planks causing the setting time to increase by many hours.
Fitting New Wooden Blocks
We will make sure that any new blocks will perfectly match the height and level of the blocks that are already laid. The continuous sanding and staining where necessary will then bring the wood as close to a match as we possibly can.
Once the parquet flooring restoration is complete you will see the before and after pictures to show the vast improvement, although you will immediately see the difference.
