Oak tress have a lifespan of over 200 years and this strength and durability makes it a great choice for flooring.  Oak is one of the most dense wood available at 0.75g per cm3 which helps make is hardwearing as a wooden flooring.

Oak is not just used for wooden flooring and furniture it also has been used for wine and beer barrels.  Oak barrels have always been favoured due to the flavour and aroma it adds to the drink.
