Get Your Wooden Flooring at an Affordable Cost

We’re fresh into the new year and funds are always tight, but this does not mean you have to compromise on getting the right wooden flooring for your home.

One of the main decisions is choosing the right material.  Each wooden flooring type price ranges considerably, but some types are more affordable than others.  If you have only considered solid wooden flooring, this is generally the most expensive type of flooring and wouldn’t suit if you are on a tight budget, however, engineered wooden flooring are a great alternative at a more affordable price.  Engineered flooring consists of a real wood top layer with plywood layers for the base.  This give the impression of real wood on the surface and is also much cheaper than its real wood floor alternative.

Going further down the chain for even tighter budgets, then laminate flooring is the option.  This type of flooring is imitation wood using a photographic image for its top layer to give the impression of real wood.  The colours, grains and types of wood available are endless and this this hardwearing surface can last for many years if fitted by a professional floor fitter.  Laminate is not our favoured type of flooring for quality reasons and longevity.  You can expect to change laminate flooring a lot more than solid wood flooring as damaged planks can not be rectified easily, whereas wooden flooring can be sanded, filled and replaced quite easily with a professional floor fitter.

Don’t just go for the brands you know for your wooden flooring

Although we never recommend it, as we prefer to use quality flooring, but steering clear of brand names and opting for cheaper brands can allow you to get the flooring type you prefer at the right price.  We can recommend several lesser known brands that we believe match or even exceed the quality of other brands
