You’re obviously very protective of your new floor but you can’t stop accidents from happening, the odd glass of wine knocked over, dropped bowl of cereal maybe? Well don’t cry over spilt milk (we’re allowed one pun) How do you go about cleaning laminate flooring to keep it in it’s original pristine condition with kids, pets or just lots of traffic coming through your home, well the following procedures will help.

Removing stubborn stains

There’s always that one stain that you can’t get rid of, you’ve tried every method going but it still remains, take a look below at the solutions to some of the trickier stains

Chewing Gum Removal

The best tool for removing chewing gum is a childs plastic food knife to gently scrape the gum from underneath.  This will remove the majority of the gum, so to remove the remnants it is best to use a soft, warm cloth.  If the gum is sticky, gross I know, but you can use the gum that you have removed to act as a magnet to pull up the remaining gum by dabbing it.  As mentioned before, ensure the floor is completely dry after.

Nail Polish Removal

This can be a nuisance but so easily done, worry not though as using a regular nail polish remover will simply lift the stain from the flooring.  Follow this up with a damp cloth and dry afterwards.

Scuffs and Marks from Shoes

Great nifty trick is to use a pencil eraser to remove them.  By gently rubbing the affected area the scuff will effectively rub out from the surface.  ensure you are using a clean, preferably new eraser so you are not adding to the problem.  Simply wipe away the debris with a soft cloth and you’re done.
