Solid Wood or laminate flooring like any wood, does not work well in damp conditions. Areas in your home that are always damp or prone to get wet like bathrooms are not the best place to have wooden flooring fitted. We regularly fit wooden floor in kitchens which can also be prone to excess water on the floor due to spillages etc so we recommend that if any water becomes in contact with the floor it is mopped or wiped up immediately so as to not slap between the joints and cause swelling to the strips.
Wooden flooring is quite resilient and resistant to splashes and minor spills but it is not waterproof, so any resting water will eventually sea through and cause damage.
