Technical Project Spotlight: 500m² of parquet restoration & installation.

At JG Flooring, we recently completed a large-scale parquet project with full subfloor preparation and installation.

Step 1: Uplift & Preparation
• Uplifted the existing parquet flooring
• Mechanically ground back old bitumen residues to achieve a clean, sound base
• Applied Mapei smoothing compound to level the floor
• Installed a Mapei liquid damp proof membrane (DPM) for moisture protection
• Primed the subfloor after the DPM
• Applied a final coat of Mapei smoothing compound to create a strong, uniform surface ready for bonding

Step 2: Installation
• Installed 170m² of 22mm solid oak parquet block in a traditional pattern
• Bonded using Remwar adhesive for maximum strength and durability

Step 3: Sanding & Sealing
• Sanded and sealed the new parquet floor to a fine, durable finish
• Refurbished two additional halls, bringing the total sanding & sealing works to over 500m²

The result: a fully protected, expertly installed solid oak parquet floor with a flawless finish that’s built to last.
