Making sure you measure your room correctly will help us quote you more accurately. We will never order based on your estimation as we have techniques to get the most out of your wooden floor packs in order to keep costs lower for you.
Measuring Your Floor
First of all you need a tape measure. Obvious you may think but we have had measurements sent to us in steps, so 1 step being 1 metre. A great approximate measure for the garden but your home needs something a little more accurate. Measuring in cm, mm, m or inches is fine, so use what you are most comfortable with.
You will need to measure the full width and length of your room and this is all we really need. Remember to include any recesses in the room too. If your room is an irregular shape and includes obstacles like bay windows, fire hearths or chimney breasts, you can simply measure measure the whole floor from the longest length to the shortest width, follow by measuring the obstacles separately. You can then subtract these total from the overall floor.
You can easily find the sq m size of your room by calculating your 2 measurements (L x W = A²)
Once you have the sq m size we can then offer you a closer quote once you have chosen the wooden flooring that you want. If you are purchasing the wooden floor yourself you will need to know the product you want before you can calculate the amount of packs you require. Each wooden floor product will have it’s own sqm coverage.
If you are not comfortable with measuring your floor a JG Flooring professional fitter can do this when they come out to give you a quotation. This will be accurate enough to give you an exact cost for your wooden floor.
